Winning artwork for Winefest announced | Western Colorado
The winner of the annual Colorado Winefest Art Contest was announced on Friday and the winning artwork was “Blissfully Satisfied” by Erin Wright.
Each year, the Colorado Association for Viticulture & Enology (CAVE) invites 2D artists from around the state to submit their artwork for the chance to become the official Colorado Winefest Poster Artist. This year’s contest had 27 entries from across Colorado.
“Blissfully Satisfied” was chosen by the public through online voting to represent the 34th Colorado Mountain Winefest.
“I was so thrilled when I found out I was one of the finalists for the Colorado Winefest Art Contest—but now this!.” Wright said in a press release. “I am so excited to be the winner this year. This is the first art contest that I have ever entered, so this is new territory for me. I am a bit of a gypsy with an art and education background. Previously, I taught in Alaska, and now here in the Grand Valley.”
Wright will receive a cash prize of $700 and her artwork will be featured on wine totes, T-shirts, and posters, as well as local and nationwide print and digital marketing for this year’s Colorado Mountain Winefest.
Prints of “Blissfully Satisfied” will also be available for purchase online at www.WineColorado.org and in the CAVE Office later this spring.
The second place finalist was “Colorado Dancin’” by Wendy Videlock, and “Harvest” by Marilyn Wilcox was third.
The Colorado Mountain Winefest will take place on September 20.
