Wild Acres Care Home celebrates residents’ artwork – Wokingham.Today

A FINCHAMPSTEAD care home celebrated the artistic talents of its community with an in-house exhibition.

Wild Acres Care Home, proud of the artworks its residents had been creating, decided to display them for visitors.

Denise, activities coordinator, decided the work was too good to leave in boxes or to stick on a wall as a piece of paper and set about mounting and framing pictures so they could be displayed around the home for all to see and enjoy.

There were so many they invited families and locals to view the new exhibition, which showed works of art, stencilled bags, bracelets, cards and woven wall hangings.

Staff say that residents and their families are proud of the artists’ achievements, and that they brighten up the walls of the home.

Wild Acres offers its community a variety of activities in the home, including games, quizzes, musical entertainment, pampering sessions, gardening and art and crafts.
