NEWS: Disney Releases FIRST Single and Artwork for New “A Whole New Sound” Pop-Punk Album
Disney songs are some of our favorite ways to remind us of the magic and bring it into our homes.
For some, it reminds us of watching Disney films as kids or watching them WITH our kids. Either way, Disney music can be a great pick-me-up. While we love the classics, sometimes it’s exciting to hear new takes on Disney songs, and that’s exactly what Mickey and his friends are doing with their new album. And guess what? The first song is out NOW!
Mickey & Friends have set out to create a new album with reimagined versions of classic Disney songs, performed by some of their favorite alternative, rock, and pop-punk bands. The album is appropriately called A Whole New Sound and will be available as an album and vinyl later this year.
Great news: the first single from the album has just been released! It’s a reimagined version of “Can You Feel The Love Tonight?” from Disney’s The Lion King to celebrate the film’s 30th Anniversary. And it’s sung by none other than the 1999 pop-punk band Simple Plan!
When asked about their rendition of the song, the band said, “We wanted to pay homage to Sir Elton John’s original version while also adding our own style to it and making it sound fun and energetic.” We certainly think they accomplished that, and it seems many Disney fans are really enjoying the new take on the classic song! The band continued, saying, “We grew up watching Disney movies with our families and now we get to enjoy them with our own kids, so it’s pretty amazing to have been invited to be on this album.”
The album artwork was also revealed, which looks absolutely adorable in our opinion.
If you want to hear the song live, Simple Plan is performing their version of “Can You Feel The Love Tonight?” at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event on August 9th, 2024! We’ll be in attendance and can’t wait to hear it, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news.
