How often do you need to charge this digital artwork display?

January 12, 2026 One Min Read

Italian design house Pininfarina and InkPoster have teamed up to create the world’s largest color ePaper art poster. Called Duna, the device consists of an A1-size screen inside a handcrafted frame. The E Ink Spectra 6 color screen display looks like printed paper, showing 60,000 natural colors with no glare and no backlight.

The artwork on display can be changed with a single tap, with the accompanying InkPoster App letting viewers choose from thousands of licensed artworks or upload personal images. Duna only uses power to switch images, so it can last up to a full year on a single charge. This also means the artwork is visible even when the device is fully switched off.

“Our work with InkPoster brings together classic design values and modern display technology. By pairing an innovative color ePaper screen with crafted materials, we aimed to create a piece that looks timeless and behaves beautifully in any space. We believe it opens a new chapter in how technology belongs in the home,” said Nicola Girotti, head of product design at Pininfarina.
