Forgotten Salvador Dali artworks have been discovered in a London garage.
The 10 lithographs created and signed by the Spanish surrealist were unearthed at a property in Berkeley Square, Mayfair, where they had been hidden for 50 years.
It has emerged that the works were bought in the 1970s for around £500, before becoming lost in the clutter of the central London garage.
The collection, which also includes five lithographs by Theo Tobiasse, the French painter, engraver, illustrator and sculptor, is now set to go under the hammer and could fetch up to £5,000.
Antiques expert Chris Kirkham, associate director of auction house Hansons Richmond, was asked to assess the works by the owner as part of a clear-out in preparation for a home move.
He hailed the discovery as “an amazing find”.
