Banksy has once again captivated the public with his latest creation, which appeared on the shutters of the London Zoo on Tuesday. The artwork depicts a gorilla lifting a shutter to free a variety of animals. This piece marks the ninth and final installment in a recent series that has emerged across London, featuring animals like elephants, monkeys, goats, and wolves since August 5.
The London Zoo responded playfully on social media, sharing an image of the artwork with the caption: “Is the (big) cat out of the bag? Have our animals been helping make people smile all over London this week?”
Banksy confirmed this is the last piece in the series, posting the image on his social media without any caption. The series, which has included artworks on everything from fish and chip shops to public transportation bridges, has sparked intrigue and conversation throughout the city. However, one piece, featuring a wolf on a satellite dish, was reportedly stolen shortly after its discovery.
