A cultural hub: Find artwork at the Traditional Spanish Market
The Traditional Spanish Market is a vibrant event that serves as a cultural hub where artists and artisans can display their talents. This event also preserves and promotes the rich Hispanic heritage deeply rooted in New Mexico’s history.
Peter Sanchez, CEO of Atrisco Heritage Foundation, and Brissa Chilton-Garcia, Traditional Spanish Market Program Coordinator, talked about the upcoming market and what people can expect.
The 72nd annual Traditional Spanish Market is July 27 and July 28 in Santa Fe, New Mexico from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a wide selection of hide paintings, retablos, straw appliques, tinwork, colcha embroidery, furniture, weaving, and woodwork.
The free event has grown over the years. It also provides local artists with sales and marketing opportunities as well as prizes and public exposure.
