Artists to keep 100% of distribution royalties as part of new SoundCloud subscription

November 4, 2025 One Min Read

SoundCloud will allow artists to keep 100% of the distribution royalties for their music as part of its new “all-in-one” artist subscription.

In a statement shared last week (October 30), SoundCloud revealed that it will cease to claim distribution royalties from the next payout cycle at end of November.

This includes both money earned directly from the platform and music uploaded to other streaming services – such as a Spotify, Apple Music and TikTok – via SoundCloud’s distribution service.

Users in the US will also be able to utilise SoundCloud’s “fan-to-artist support” feature free of charge, which gives the ability to add a “support” button to their page for fans to pay what they want to support artists.

Other features included as part of the subscription include an on-demand vinyl service, which allows artists to created limited vinyl runs without up-front costs or bulk orders, alongside artist storefronts and merch.

“SoundCloud has always been about putting artists first,” SoundCloud CEO Eliah Seton said in a statement. “With this launch, we’re taking that mission further by giving artists a truly all-in-one subscription, including distribution without detours, community without barriers, and monetisation without compromise, including direct support from their fans.”
