Varanasi is set to host an extraordinary confluence of art, literature, and culture with the third edition of the Banaras Literature and Art Festival scheduled to be held from March 7-9, 2025, at Taj Ganges.
The festival will be inaugurated on March 7 at 12 PM by Governor of Assam Lakshman Acharya, who is the chief guest of the prestigious event, according to Deepak Madhok, President of the Organising Committee.

The occasion will also be graced by Harivansh Narayan Singh, Deputy Speaker of the Rajya Sabha.

Varanasi—also known as Kashi or Banaras—has long been a cradle of art, literature, and spiritual wisdom. The city has nurtured legendary figures, from Sant Kabir and Munshi Premchand to musical maestros like Ustad Bismillah Khan and Pandit Ravi Shankar, along with classical dance stalwarts such as Sitara Devi. This festival is a tribute to the city’s timeless cultural and literary legacy.

Now in its third edition, the festival aspires to be a dynamic cultural symposium, bringing together celebrated artists, poets, and intellectuals.

A major highlight of the event will be the recognition and felicitation of distinguished writers, with over 500 writers, publishers, and poets expected to participate.

The festival will also witness the presence of eminent personalities, including Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, author Amish Tripathi, film personality Ila Arun, veteran actor-director Amol Palekar, author Karan Madhok, folk singer Malini Awasthi, and storyteller Neelesh Misra, among others.
