Girl’s artwork praised by boyband Blue at Bury album signing
Thea, 12, who attends Brookhaven, the new SEND high school in Unsworth, met members of the group during an album signing at Wax and Beans in Bury town centre on Monday (January 12).
The artist and music lover, who has autism, designed a logo inspired by the band’s latest album, Reflection.
Thea hoped her design might catch the band’s attention during the signing, and her wish came true.
The group praised her work, encouraged her to keep creating, and signed the artwork for her, making the day even more special.
Her mother also picked up a few CDs as mementoes.
Thea’s school has played a key role in nurturing her artistic talents and helping her express herself through creativity and music.
Staff have supported her creative growth, and the experience has given her a huge boost in confidence.
The album signing drew fans to Bury town centre, where they shared memories of past concerts and celebrated the band’s music.
Her mother said: “Since going to this fabulous High School, I’ve seen such a difference in my daughter.
“She’s happier and more content. Brookhaven was really the right academic setting for her needs.
“They have been more than supportive; they have exceeded all my expectations.
“If Theas happy – I’m happy.”
