Young artists invited to compete in Pembrokeshire event

January 21, 2026 One Min Read

It is for students aged 11 to 16, with a total of £500 in cash prizes.

The competition encourages young people to explore the region’s historical buildings, some of which are under threat.

Participants are required to choose a pre-1920 building and research its history and past users.

Their findings should then be creatively presented using techniques such as painting, photography, poetry, or digital media.

Entries can be submitted in either English or Welsh.

The competition aims to stimulate young people’s interest in Pembrokeshire’s historical buildings, some of which are currently under threat.

Young artists can submit their entries individually or via their schools.

The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2026.

The winners will be decided by local artists, with an award ceremony held in Haverfordwest in July 2026.

For more details, visit the Pembrokeshire Historic Buildings Trust website or email martin@phbt.wales.
