Worcestershire Art Trail: Artists set to showcase work
The North Worcestershire Artist Collective and Clent Village Artists have joined forces to welcome visitors to the first North Worcestershire Art Trail.
At six venues across North Worcestershire, including Hagley, Clent, Belbroughton, Catshill and Alvechurch, artists will be opening their homes and studios to give visitors a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into how their artwork is created.
The artists include Jane Aston, Richard Coyle, Michelle Doidge, Kate Gallimore, Edwina Mackinnon, Julie Marcus, Juliet May, Celia Nancarrow, Suzanne Nicholl and Amanda Pardoe.
Michelle Doidge, one of the artists taking part, said: “We are all so excited to be opening our doors to welcome art lovers and art makers alike.
“All of the venues are within a short drive of one another so everyone coming to the event will easily be able to visit all of the artists.
“Come and join us for a creative and fun-filled weekend.”
More than 300 original artworks will be on display at the event and each of the artists has their own individual technique and style, so there will be something to suit all tastes.
The artists work with a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolour, ink and digital art.
Original artwork along with prints and cards will be available to purchase at each venue.
The North Worcestershire Art Trail came about as Worcestershire Open Studios, which has been running for a number of years and is always hugely popular with visitors, is taking a break this year.
The ten artists have all enjoyed opening their homes in previous years and meeting their visitors so they wanted to do something similar this year.
The artists hope that the Art Trail will be the first of many and it is set to take place over the August Bank Holiday from Friday, August 23 to Monday, August 26.
Opening times and dates might vary between venues so check before visiting.
Most venues will be offering refreshments.
