MTV’s Video Music Awards are officially back, and this year, the show is taking over the UBS Arena in New York City on September 10!
The nominees for this year’s ceremony have officially been announced, and to celebrate, we’ve picked highlighted the incredible LGBTQ+ talent that we’ll definitely be rooting for!
Billie Eilish, “Lunch” – Video of the Year
It’s safe to say that after the release of her verse on Charli XCX’s remix for the track “Guess,” all we can think about is Billie Eilish! She is no stranger to the VMAs, having won three moon men in the past. We hope to see her take home another with the hot girls love hot girls anthem!
Chappell Roan – Best New Artist
After taking over the internet and one of the LARGEST crowds in Lollapalooza history, it is absolutely no surprise to see Chappell Roan as a nominee. This midwest princess has quickly stolen the hearts of millions and continues to wow us. We hate to say, we told you so.
Troye Sivan, “Rush” – Best Choreography
Troye for choreo? Groundbreaking! The “Rush” music video was iconic and a viral sensation, and it was one of the absolute gayest videos of the past year. We hope to see this hottie leave with a moon man!
Victoria Monét, “On My Mama” – Best R&B
Did it just get super hot in here? Bi icon Victoria Monét gets a nomination at this years VMAs and we are gleaming. We hope this queen blesses us with another incredible live performance at the show!
Anitta, “Mil Veces” – Best Latin
Can you feel the bisexual energy in the room rising? The gorgeous Anitta has already won two VMAs, one in 2022 and the other just last year. She continues to dominate in the Latin music world and she ALWAYS turns a look!
Cardi B & Shakira, “Puntería” – Best Latin
Another bi bombshell enters the category! Out rapper Cardi B and Shakira both scored a nomination in Best Latin for this years VMAs. Both ladies have won 4 moon men on their own in previous years, so we hope to see them take home a fifth!
Megan the Stallion, “BOA” – Best Hip-Hop
It wouldn’t be a hot girl summer without the OG hot girl herself. Meg and her team rounded up FIVE nominations for this years VMAs including Best Visual Effects, Best Art Direction, and Best Direction. This hot girl just keeps getting hotter!
