The University’s Art House on Castle Street will play host to the annual Arts Degree Show, where graduating students will showcase their projects to family, friends, industry professionals, and the public.
The event, which is a celebration of the students’ time at the University’s School of Arts, will begin on Friday, May 24, and run for a full week.

The week of celebration starts on Thursday, May 23 with the opening night of the Degree Show, with a host of disciplines on display including animation, illustration, graphic design, and fine art.
David Broster, head of the University’s School of Arts, said: “This is first and foremost a celebration of the students’ work.
“It is not austere, or formal, and is an opportunity for friends, family, and the public to come in, have a look around and enjoy the work.”
He added: “For the students this is the culmination of all the years spent developing ideas and techniques and the chance to showcase their finished work.
“It’s a key moment for the artists.
“They’ve worked hard over the years building to this and it is a significant step up for everyone when the work is viewed and commented on by the public and professionals.”
Recent years have seen an increase in the show’s popularity, with last year’s opening night drawing a crowd of around 600 people, and seeing some students clinching commissions, selling their artwork, and being offered job opportunities.
In the week that follows the opening night, the Art House will be open between 10am and 4pm, with student invigilators on hand to assist with visitor’s needs.
