Get ready for your haggadah to truly come to life this Pesach! Just in time for Pesach, twenty-two carefully selected pieces of the art of Zalman Kleiman will be unveiled from Sunday April 14 until Sunday April 21 at Kehot Publications Society located at 291 Kingston Avenue. This is a rare chance to view Klieman’s iconic artwork up-close and personal.
Izzy Clapman, curator of Fine Arts Gallery, has teamed up with Kehot Publications to proudly showcase the captivating original works. The pieces of art, acquired by Clapman who is an independent art dealer and expert in the works of Zalman Kleiman, will be exhibited at the Kehos showroom, offering a community event for all to enjoy. Alongside this exhibition, the long-awaited relaunch of Kleiman’s Illustrated Hagada will also be featured.
Kehos is thrilled to reintroduce The Kleiman Illustrated Haggadah alongside Kleiman’s stunning artwork, which will be for sale, as well. First published in 1992, Kleiman’s beloved Haggadah is back in print and available in two sizes: regular and a travel size. The cherished sefer vividly brings to life the inherent chinuch embedded within its pages. The traveling edition makes the perfect companion for celebrating Pesach away from home, ensuring that the beauty and essence of Pesach are with you wherever you may be.
“I literally found these twenty-two pieces in an old shoe box,” says Clapman. The art dealer deals primarily with the works of Zalman Kleiman, Hendel Leiberman, Anton Kandinsky, Elena Flerova, Itshak Holz, and Michoel Muchknik. Over the past few weeks, Clapman has been working with the Betzalel Gallery on framing the pieces. “I have illustration pieces of the ka’arah, yachatz, matza, maror, and more,” he says. “They needed to be framed in very unique ways.”
Kleiman’s artistry invites you on a journey of exploration and wonder, and his masterpieces brim with talent and vision. Prepare yourself for the captivating viewing experience of the splitting of the Yam Suf, Eliyahu’s cup, and many more unseen works which will be available for viewing at this rare opportunity.
This rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich compositions of Kleiman’s work is an event you won’t want to miss. With music and refreshments, this gallery showroom at Kehos is sure to be an experience unlike any other.
So mark your calendars and spread the word. The grand opening of the showcase at Kehos promises to break boundaries with a celebration of the beauty of the Pesach Hagaddah, all while uniting the community in a memorable event that’s not to be missed. Izzy Clapman can be reached at 917-442-6603.
