Borderlands Artists are exhibiting at Chichester’s Oxmarket Contemporary from May 12-24.
The artists are: Maureen Banfield-Hamlin, Tessa Christie, Kim Cody, Meg Harris-Williams, Rosemary Williams, Sue Ogilvey, Ronnie Ireland, Chris Sercombe, Kate Davies, Chris Holley, Graham Mollart, Jan Hunter and Sally Northwood. They come from the borders of Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire.
Spokesman Chris Sercombe said: “Borderlands artists are a long-established group of professional artists who live on the borders of Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex. The members include painters, printers and sculptors, ceramicists and photographers. They exhibit individually and collectively throughout the south of England. In addition, they meet regularly to draw, critique and support each other. This exhibition follows on from their previous exhibition at the Oxmarket two years ago.
“The exhibition will showcase each artist’s work and is an eclectic mixture of small and large works from larger vibrant abstracts to smaller floral watercolours, miniature still-life oil paintings, contemplative acrylics, textile wall hangings and even featuring birds from Chichester harbour.
“Such is the range of artworks that there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
“Most of the members of Borderlands have a degree in fine art and have worked in a variety of occupations from graphic design to teaching in secondary schools, tutoring life drawing, watercolour and other media to adults. They are passionate about their art and want to convey their enthusiasm to everyone.”
