Distinctive artwork stolen from Cheltenham Festival
An appeal has been issued after a piece of artwork was stolen from the Cheltenham horse racing festival last month.
The original painting by Clare Haggas titled ‘Making Amends’ was stolen at Cheltenham Festival on Friday, March 13.

The piece is highly distinctive and immediately recognisable. It features two hares positioned nose-to-nose in a quiet, intimate moment, captured in a large-format, professionally framed artwork.

This is a deeply personal piece for the artist, taking months of detailed work to complete. The hares’ fur is rendered with exceptional realism using a unique combination of pencil and acrylic techniques, making the artwork extremely difficult to replicate.

The police crime reference number is 53260014221 Gloucestershire Constabulary.
If you have any information, or if the artwork is offered for sale or seen publicly, please contact the police quoting the reference number above.
