SAAC calls for artwork: 2025 Membership Showcase
The South Arkansas Arts Center (SAAC) Visual Arts Committee is once again rolling out the welcome mat for artists of all kinds so that they can submit pieces to the 2025 Membership Showcase, a beloved bi-annual tradition that fills the SAAC galleries with color, texture, and imagination. Artwork submissions are now open and will be accepted through Friday, September 19, with the exhibition running September 23 through October 29 in the Merkle Gallery.
Participation is free for SAAC members, and artists who aren’t yet members are warmly invited to join and submit their work. Whether you’re a seasoned creator or just beginning your artistic journey, the showcase is an open door to share your vision with the community. An Artists’ Reception will be hosted on Thursday, September 25, from 5:30–7:00pm–a perfect evening to mingle with the talent behind the art.
Artists may submit up to two original pieces in any medium–from paintings, sculpture, photography, fiber art, jewelry, and video, to computer-generated images, multi-media presentations, and everything in between. The only rule? Pieces must not have been displayed in a previous SAAC Membership Show, and they must be display-ready (framed works should have a secure wire, sawtooth hanger, or a manner with which to hang them, and 3-D/multi-media work must be installation-ready).
The Membership Showcase is non-juried and non-competitive–there are no prizes or judges–just a joyful celebration of the region’s creative spirit. While there are no awards, artists are encouraged to offer their work for sale.
Artwork delivery is simple: bring your work to SAAC Monday through Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Registration is available online at www.saac-arts.org or via paper entry form at drop-off.
Come be part of one of SAAC’s most welcoming and inspiring traditions–where creativity knows no limits! For more information, visit www.saac-arts.org or call 870-862-5474. SAAC galleries, located at 110 E 5th Street in El Dorado, are free and open to the public Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.
