Walton could be in line for some vibrant new artwork
Councillor Ann Oxley has written to Tendring Council to request permission to transform the Kino toilets into a bold and vibrant piece of community artwork.
The idea is inspired by the recent success of murals around the town, including the striking work of East Coast 5 by Chris Bardell.

If agreed, the project would be a team effort between artists and community groups.

“The Kino toilets are a key part of our seafront, and we want to turn them into a visual asset, not an eyesore.
“This is all about community, creativity, colour and making Walton somewhere we can all feel proud of.”
She said the project would help to improve the appearance of the much-used facility, deter graffiti and vandalism, as well as bringing together people in the community.
