The art fair is set to take place from July 10 to 13 at the Southampton Fairgrounds in New York, the United States.
AWARD-WINNING visual artist and co-founder of the Swiss-Zim Heritage Keith Zenda and celebrated visual artists, Tonderai Mujuru and Barry Lungu, will take their painting narratives titled An African Story to the prestigious Hamptons Fine Art Fair.
The art fair is set to take place from July 10 to 13 at the Southampton Fairgrounds in New York, the United States.
The three possess immense talent and capability in expressing wisdom and African creativity.
Last year, social media went abuzz when they were represented by Zenda at a month-long exhibition and residency in Dubai.
Zenda said the Hamptons Fine Art Fair was a global chief event popularised by its carefully curated and showcasing of 20th and 21st-century artworks.
This, in a long time, has become a must-attend event for global collectors and art enthusiasts.
“This year, we bring the vibrant story of African art to this elite fair with our exhibition titled An African Story in the Hamptons,” Zenda said.
“The 2025 edition is expected to break attendance, media coverage and overall engagement records.”
Zenda, Mujuru and Lungu find will time to interact with art lovers, curators and collectors from across the globe as they go into details of their narrative An African Story.
Their body of creative works revolves around vibrant paintings depicting scenes of daily life, traditional ceremonies and dynamic urban environments.
They also incorporate wildlife art, which showcases the majestic African animal kingdom.
Their contemporary pieces blend with traditional themes through their modern interpretations, which reflect the evolving art landscape in Zimbabwe.
“Keith Zenda’s captivating works reflect the soul of Zimbabwean culture through vibrant depictions of everyday life, traditions and community stories. His artistic journey began early and his pieces embody the energy and spirit of his homeland,” their synopsis read.
“Tonderai Mujuru is known for his breathtaking wildlife scenes, Tonderai’s work highlights the beauty of Zimbabwe’s fauna and the deep connection between humans and nature. His art serves as a call for conservation and appreciation of Africa’s natural heritage.
“Barry Lungu has over 25 years of experience painting full-time from his studio in Harare, Barry’s artwork is rooted in the vibrancy of Zimbabwe’s urban and rural life. His pieces capture the buzz of township life and the serenity of the countryside.”
Zenda added that the Swiss-Zim Heritage believed in nurturing up-and-coming talent, that’s why it invited three to four young and emerging artists to showcase their works alongside prominent names.
This exposure will help these promising artists to gain global recognition, enrich their journeys and further the dialogue about African art.
