MFA Boston announces two new curators in contemporary art
The Museum of Fine Arts has announced the hiring of two new curators in its department of contemporary art. Carmen Hermo will hold the title of Lorraine and Alan Bressler curator of contemporary art, while Claire Howard will be Hansjörg Wyss curator of modern art.
Hermo comes to the MFA from the Brooklyn Museum of Art, where she is associate curator for the museum’s Center for Feminist Art. Previously, she was an assistant curator for collections at New York’s Guggenheim Museum.
Howard is an associate curator at the Blanton Museum of Art, at the University of Texas at Austin. She’s also held positions at the Menil Collection, in Houston, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Hermo and Howard assume their posts in September.
