Fine Arts Fiesta board of directors issues call for submissions – Wilkes-Barre Citizens’ Voice
The board of directors of the 69th Annual Fine Arts Fiesta announces that preparations are being made for the Fine Art Fiesta Annual Sandra Dyczewski Maffei Adult Juried Exhibition and Yellow Zinnia Junior/Senior High Juried Exhibition for the 69th Wilkes-Barre Fine Arts Fiesta, “Listen to Your Art” to be held on Public Square from Thursday, May 15 to Sunday, May 18.
Any artist living within a radius of 100 miles of Wilkes-Barre is eligible to compete. Original works of art, which have been recently completed, may be entered.
There are six specific categories in which to enter the adult exhibition. They are Crafts, Graphics, Painting, Photography, Sculpture/Construction, and Watercolor. In all categories, except Crafts, no entry is to exceed four feet in any direction.
Please note a change with all two-dimensional art for 2025: All 2-D artwork has a 9-inch to 12-inch frame size minimum.
Awards for each category include $75, first place; $50, second place; and $25, third place; in cash or gift certificates. If a work is judged as “Best in Show,” a $200 prize will be awarded.
For the Adult Juried Exhibit, a $10 fee is charged for the first entry and $6 for each additional entry (maximum of five). Fees are payable by check to Fine Arts Fiesta Inc.
Delivery for all artwork will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Fiesta Artwork Central, (the old Rite Aid Pharmacy Building), 33 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre. Entry forms can be filled out at this location during delivery of artwork.

Adult entry forms can also be picked up at Marquis Art and Frame, South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre and Main Street Galleries, Pierce Street, Kingston.
This year’s judge for the Student exhibition is Fran Douaihy of Dunmore, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in art education from Wilkes University and a Master of Science degree in art education from the University of Scranton.
The judge for the adult show is Nina Davidowitz of Dallas, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history from Mount Holyoke College, and aMaster of Fine Arts degree in design from Marywood University.
All artists are invited to attend the award presentation which held at the Fine Arts Fiesta at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, on the Main Stage on Public Square, with a meet-and-greet to follow.
