Scott Gorham (Thin Lizzy) announces new formats for his artwork

April 2024 saw legendary guitarist launch his own artwork at a London event hosted by actor Philip Glenister. Six stunning prints became available via www.scottgorhamworld.com. The high end art prints have proved a huge success with the fans but the website has been inundated with requests to have the option to buy the artwork on the rock band classic – the t-shirt.

After years of hiding my artwork away I was blown away by the reaction to the announcement in April 2024. We received so much positive feedback but also SO MANY requests for t-shirts too! Well, we listened and went about trying to find a manufacturer who can produce high quality shirts for those that want them. We are now all ready to go….

The t-shirt launch on the 29th October 2024 will initially be based on two of the most popular prints – Pain and Free Speech? – with a short sleeve and long sleeve version of each available. Each shirt will feature high quality reproduction of the artwork on the front and artwork title on the back (the Pain title a piece of Scott’s art in itself!). Scott Gorham’s Artwork
In 1974 American Scott Gorham moved to the UK and joined Irish rockers Thin Lizzy. Scott would perform on ten best-selling albums, including “Jailbreak”, “Johnny The Fox”, “Bad Reputation” and “Live And Dangerous”, and on the hit singles, “The Boys Are Back In Town“, “Rosalie“, “Dancing In The Moonlight (It’s Caught Me In Its Spotlight)” and “Waiting On An Alibi“.
 
Scott used to also secretly work on his own art  (something he discovered as a child). He carried on drawing , with Thin Lizzy and, in more recent times, with the group Black Star Riders, and at home during downtime after a tour. He just didn’t tell his fellow musicians or even his wife, Christine. Then Christine discovered a folder containing numerous drawings, some of which dated back to the early 1980s. These images were inspired by Scott’s life on the road, getting sober, the state of the planet and even the time Phil Lynott took him to his first football match.
 
Then, three years ago, Scott posted a drawing called ‘The Fanatic’ on social media to commemorate what would have been Phil Lynott’s birthday.

This very personal drawing drew thousands of positive responses with fans asking whether there were other drawings and where they could buy it,’ he explains. ‘It took a further three years to persuade me and agree to introduce some of my collection to the public…. I never expected to show them to anyone.

The short and long sleeved t-shirts will be released worldwide at 9am GMT on Tuesday 29^th October 2024 through www.scottgorhamworld.com. The shirts come in a variety of sizes and will cost £29.99 (or equivalent) for a short sleeve and £34.99 (or equivalent) for a long sleeve. The price includes postage and packing.
