Sailor Moon Releases Store-Original Tumblers Featuring Gorgeous Creator Manga Artwork

The Sailor Moon franchise has rolled out store-original tumblers, celebrating gorgeous official artwork from Naoko Takeuchi’s iconic Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon manga series.

The official Sailor Moon store recently released the “Store Original Gradient Thermo Round Tumbler.” These stainless steel tumblers guarantee a consistent liquid temperature and come in three designs, featuring Usagi Tsukino and Luna, headshots of the Sailor Guardians, and chibi-fied Guardians. The new merchandise went on sale on April 18, 2024, and costs around $21. Readers can check out the images below.

Sailor Moon’s New Official Tumbler Is Part of the Franchise’s 30th-Anniversary Celebrations

The tumblers are officially described: “A cute thermo tumbler with a light gradation color body and a round silhouette. Made of stainless steel material, perfect for keeping warm and cold. It is recommended for daily use as it is rust resistant and easy to keep clean.” The April 18 release date of the new Sailor Moon merchandise coincided with the grand reopening of the only permanent Sailor Moon store in the world. Based in Japan’s famous Harajuku district, the store contains a host of goods for Sailor Moon‘s diverse fan base.

Also of note, the tumbler has been released as part of Sailor Moon‘s continuing 30th-anniversary celebrations, which kicked off in 2022. The franchise recently received an art book by Takeuchi documenting decades of her manga, as well as a new mug for the store, among other releases.

What May Come Next for the Sailor Moon Franchise Remains a Mystery

What’s next for the Sailor Moon franchise regarding new stories and adaptations is unclear. The Sailor Moon Crystal remake concluded in June 2023 with the second part of Sailor Moon Cosmos, adapting the fifth and final arc of the original manga. VIZ recently confirmed the release date for Sailor Moon Sailor Stars: The Complete Fifth Season, which adapted the final arc from the original ’90s anime version. A CBR feature explores what could follow after Sailor Moon Cosmos, highlighting Takeuchi’s canon prequel Codename: Sailor V as an example.

Kodansha Comics licenses Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, describing the first volume of the new edition: “Usagi Tsukino is a normal girl until she meets up with Luna, a talking cat, who tells her that she is Sailor Moon. As Sailor Moon, Usagi must fight evils and enforce justice, in the name of the Moon and the mysterious Moon Princess.
