
My Dress-Up Darling Releases Marin ‘Chinese Waitress’ Artwork for Official Café
Popular manga series My Dress-Up Darling has released a new piece of artwork featuring main character Marin dressed as a “Chinese-style waitress” to celebrate the upcoming opening of an official themed café.
Via Comic Natalie, My Dress-Up Darling will launch the new collaboration café in Tokyo and Osaka, named the “My Dress-Up Darling Chinese Restaurant.” These are set to open in Ikebukuro’s Motto Café from Aug. 1 to Sept. 29, 2024, and Motto Café Osaka from Oct. 9 to Dec. 1, 2024. My Dress-Up Darling manga creator Shinichi Fukuda released a new commemorative visual for the occasion, featuring protagonist Marin Kitagawa dressed as a waitress for work in a Chinese-style restaurant. Readers can check out the visual and new My Dress-Up Darling Volume 13 cover, both released on May 24, 2024.

It appears likely that following their success, a Dragon Ball Cafe could be on the cards, at least according to a new interview with renowned restaurant creator Andy Nguyen.

My Dress-Up Darling’s Marin and her favorite video game character Shizuku-tan are starring in a special line of clothing featuring shirts and hoodies.
The My Dress-Up Darling manga premiered in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine in January 2018, and has been collected into 13 volumes as of May 2024. Crunchyroll streams the anime adaptation by CloverWorks, officially described: “A loner boy and a flashy girl find common ground via cosplay in this sweet and spicy romcom! A high school boy with a passion for traditional dolls and a talent for sewing gets roped into making cosplay outfits for one of the prettiest, most popular girls in his class!
