Madonna pays homage to her ‘eternal muse’ Frida Kahlo as she travels to the artist’s family home in Mexico and models her vintage clothing

Madonna paid homage to a women who has inspired her for decades.

The singer, who recently wrapped up her The Celebration Tour in Brazil, traveled to Mexico to pay homage to artist Frida Kahlo.

‘A Beautiful Souvenir – visiting the family home of my Eternal Muse – Frida Kahlo. In Mexico City,’ the Grammy winner, 65, shared on social media on Monday.

‘For me it was magical to try on her clothes and jewelry, to read her journals and letters and to look at photos I’d never seen before. ♥️’

Photos posted show the Material Girl wearing a white dress with multi-colored flowers embroidered at the bodice and along the hem.

The hitmaker wore a white caballero style hat and draped a gray and gold shawl around her shoulders. 

Her long, blonde hair was styled in loose waves and she wore muted makeup with a strong rose gold lip.

Madonna and Kahlo share the same height – 5ft3in – with her thin form was able to easily slip into the vintage dresses owned by the groundbreaking painter who died in 1954, four years before the singer was born. 

She accessorized with two stacked pearl necklaces with dangling charms.  

In a photo, in which the Lucky Star singer showcased a compact owned by the Surrealist artist, she showcased a manicure with an homage to Kahlo’s famous self-portrait and wore knitted gloves interesting embroidery. 

The Vogue artist placed a green velvet blouse with green and white check embellishment over the white dress for another photo.

Madonna shared a snap of a pair of Kahlo’s shoes, along with a ring and a metal box.

Kahlo suffered from polio as a child as as a result, her right leg stopped growing.

The artist who specialized in magic realism walked with a slight limp for the rest of her life. 

The hitmaker was able to examine photos and letters of Kahlo’s along with what looks like a home-made bracelet belonging to the famed painter. 

The post was met with an outpouring of love from Madonna’s friends and fans. 

‘Stunning,’ wrote longtime pal and A League of Their Own co-star Rosie O’Donnell.

‘Te amo’ (I love you) wrote artist Mon Laferte.

‘MADONNA & FRIDA,’ proclaimed another.
