Llangollen Eisteddfod to ‘showcase international artists’

September 29, 2025 One Min Read

This renowned event, a symbol of peace and cultural exchange for nearly eight decades, is set to run from July 7 to 12.

Since its inception in 1947, the Llangollen Eisteddfod has welcomed a multitude of musicians, singers, and dancers from all around the world, including a young Luciano Pavarotti.

The organisers are now urging international artists residing in the UK to apply.

Dave Danford, the artistic director of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, said: “Our mission has always been to bring the world to Wales and create a space where cultures connect through music and movement.

“In 2026, we’re particularly keen to showcase the incredible diversity of international artists living and working here in the UK.

“If you have something unique, fresh, and inspiring to share, we want to hear from you.”

The 2026 festival promises an impressive array of performances on multiple stages, featuring traditional folk, global dance, contemporary fusion, jazz, and experimental collaborations.

Solo musicians and vocalists, choirs and vocal ensembles, dance groups of all styles, and cross-cultural and experimental acts blending traditions are particularly encouraged to apply.

Artists who believe their art form can captivate, excite, or inspire are invited to submit their applications.

Interested artists can apply by filling out the official application form online.

The application deadline is October 31, 2026, and successful applicants will be informed before Christmas.
