Art in Poundbury Winter Exhibition to feature 140 artists

The Art in Poundbury Winter Exhibition, titled Bright and Beautiful, will take place from Saturday, November 22 to Sunday, November 30 at Jubilee Hall in Poundbury.

The exhibition will celebrate the work of 140 local artists and will feature hundreds of original works, prints, and cards.

All of these will be available to purchase.

The event will raise money for Dorset County Hospital Charity and Arts in Hospital.

The centrepiece for this year’s exhibition will be a community art project, a flock of birds made by groups from local schools, youth clubs, older living communities, businesses and the Weldmar hospice.

Each bird was made using the outline of the maker’s hand and will carry a personal message of hope.

People are invited to join in with this project at the Community Art Day on Saturday, November 15 from 10am to 2pm at Jubilee Hall.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors can meet the artist and try activities from oil painting to calligraphy.

There will also be a Tiny Gallery containing artworks by local artists, each priced at £25.

The artists behind each piece will only be revealed once the work has been bought.
