Adirondack Artists Guild’s “Seasons” exhibit opens June 7 –

Saranac Lake, NY – Nancy Brossard and Mary Woodcock Johnson are the featured artists for June at the Adirondack Artists Guild with their collection, “Seasons.” This is a collaboration and extension of their current show at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Over the years, Nancy and Mary have been painting together in plein air. Brossard works in oils and Woodcock Johnson works in acrylic and watercolor. The Adirondack Artists Guild will host an opening reception on Friday, June 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. The show runs through July 1.

Both artists said they find inspiration for painting in nature, taking in light and color in its purest form.

Nancy Brossard joined the Adirondack Artists Guild in 1998 and has been showing her work and having featured shows there regularly. Her paintings can also be seen at Gallery 46 in Lake Placid and at the Downtown Artist Cellar in Malone.

Mary Woodcock Johnson writes, “My paintings are personal expressions of my life in Saranac Lake and Maine. What I see as I walk local trails with my dog and what I would love to see are recently my subjects. While I still paint figures, landscapes are now a major theme in my paintings. I am now painting mood and emotional connection through color, light, and sense of place rather than solely through figures and their relationship to each other and their environments.”

Mary is a member of NorthWind Fine Arts Gallery in Saranac Lake, the Downtown Artist Cellar in Malone, and she exhibits at Gallery 46 in Lake Placid.

The Adirondack Artists Guild is a cooperative retail art gallery representing a diverse group of artists residing and working in the Tri-Lakes region of the Adirondack Park.
