Dawson Cole Fine Art Reopens in New Location on El Paseo
Dawson Cole Fine Art moved into their new location in October 2025, trading their previous locale for a larger corner space at Ocotillo Drive and El Paseo, more natural light, and a brighter energy. Second-generation art dealer Richard MacDonald Jr. and wife Ariane welcomed guests to the gallery on Jan. 31 to celebrate the move.
Porta Via — another beloved El Paseo destination — provided light bites. Live jazz by the Duane Allen Trio created a warm, inviting soundtrack for the evening.
The group exhibition Desert Modern opened at Dawson Cole Fine Art on the same night. The collection features works that capture architecture, landscape, and abstraction influenced by desert modernism.
A portion of proceeds from the evening benefited Olive Crest, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing child abuse by providing families and children counseling, education, and life skills. “As a family business with deep roots in the art world, we believe in the power of art to inspire, uplift, and create meaningful impact,” MacDonald said. “For more than eight years, our Orange County gallery has proudly partnered with Olive Crest through our annual Day of the Arts, creating immersive cultural experiences for the boys of Olive Crest Ranch. Our grand reopening is a celebration of creativity, community, and purpose — and we are honored to continue supporting those who need it most.”
