The Torbay Guild of Artist are back in the barn with brand new exhibition

October 18, 2024 2 Mins Read

The Torbay Guild of Artists will be enjoying a welcome return to the Spanish Barn, Torre Abbey, for their ‘Art in The Barn’ 2024 Exhibition. Running from the 19th October to the 3rd November, the Exhibition features the work of Guild members, with a wide range of original paintings, prints, ceramics, and glassware all available for purchase.

A highlight of the Exhibition is the judging of artworks in various categories, with the best works awarded trophies in each of the sections. The awards will be presented to the winning artists on the Opening Day of the Exhibition, the 19th October at 2pm. A painting will also be raffled at the exhibition with all proceeds going to the RNLI.

Established in 1967 by a group of local artists including members of the Royal Academy, the Torbay Guild of Artists is still going strong with over 80 members. The Guild plays an important role in fostering and promoting high-quality artwork in the region, and this ‘Art in the Barn’ Exhibition is the perfect chance to see the work of its members.

The Spanish Barn has been the home of the Guild’s exhibitions for some years, other than over the last year during The Barn’s refurbishment.  With the refurbishment complete, this Exhibition heralds a return to this very special venue.

Located in the beautiful grounds of the historic Torre Abbey, and with a café on sight, a visit to the ‘Art in the Barn’ Exhibition is the perfect opportunity to have a day out with family and friends.

The Exhibition is open from the 19th October till the 3rd November, from 11am-4pm each day except Mondays. Entry is free, and it promises to be an event not to be missed!
