The Swansea Fringe Festival is excited to announce the first wave of artists confirmed to perform at this year’s festival, taking place from October 3rd to 5th, 2024. As one of the most anticipated events in the city’s cultural calendar, the Swansea Fringe continues to deliver an eclectic mix of music, comedy, theatre, and the arts, with a lineup that celebrates both local talent and emerging artists.

The 2024 edition will feature an exciting array of talent, from established acts to emerging artists across various genres. This year’s festival is set to build on its rich tradition of

showcasing both local and international talent, bringing the city to life with performances across multiple venues.

Featured Artists in the First Wave Include:

  • Panic Shack: The Cardiff-based punk quintet known for their riotous energy and unapologetic lyrics. Panic Shack has quickly risen to prominence in the UK punk scene, bringing a fresh and fierce sound that is set to ignite the festival stage.
  • Minas: A bilingual artist who seamlessly blends Welsh and English lyrics with a mix of hip-hop, electronic, and rock influences. Minas is a rising star in the Welsh music scene, known for his innovative sound and thought-provoking lyrics.
  • Angharad: This Cardiff-based singer-songwriter captivates audiences with her soulful voice and deeply personal songs, blending folk, pop, and acoustic elements to create a unique and emotive sound.
  • Movement 81: An exciting new project bringing a fusion of jazz, funk, and electronic music. Known for their captivating live performances, Movement 81 is set to deliver an energetic and groove-filled set that will get everyone dancing.
  • Geraint Lovgreen: A veteran of the Welsh music scene, Geraint Lovgreen is a singer- songwriter whose heartfelt and poetic lyrics, delivered in Welsh, have made him a beloved figure in Welsh folk music.
  • Loveletter: Bringing a fresh wave of indie pop, Loveletter’s dreamy melodies and catchy hooks have been making waves on the indie scene. Their blend of nostalgic sounds with a modern twist is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.One of the festival organisers, Jordan McGuire, commented on the announcement, saying, “We’re thrilled to reveal such an exciting and diverse group of artists for this year’s Swansea Fringe Festival. Each act brings something unique to the table, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of Wales and beyond. This first wave is just a taste of what’s to come as we continue to celebrate creativity and community here in Swansea.”

    The Swansea Fringe Festival 2024 is shaping up to be an unmissable weekend, offering a wide range of performances and experiences for festival-goers. With more acts to be revealed soon, anticipation is building for what promises to be the festival’s most exciting edition yet.
