Bitter Root Arts Guild hosts ‘Art for Barks Fine Art Show’
Bitterroot residents looking to peruse fine art and potentially adopt a pet will have a chance at the upcoming “Art for Barks Fine Art Show.”
The event is set for July 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Main Street Park in Darby.
The Bitter Root Humane Association and Heidi’s Kitten Rescue Adoption will be onsite with animals available for adoption.
Art for Barks Fine Art Show will include a number of local artists and craft-makers with handmade items available for purchase. Norma Lee Pfaff will be creating a piece of art during the event that will be raffled off at the end of the show, and Darby’s resident author SS Duskey will be signing books.

Wendy Holsapple of Laughing Mule Press, with her piece titled “Francis.” Holsapple is one of the featured artists at the the St. Francis Fund’s “Art for Barks” event in Darby on July 6.
There is also a silent auction underway. In Darby, “Francesca,” a dog sculpture donated by Barbara Liss, is on display at Electric Beach, and “Home Waters,” a beautiful 24-inch by 32-inch photo donated by Nathan Wotkyns of Wide Angle Fine Art Printing, is on view at Local Flair. Both pieces will be brought to the park the day of the show. The bidding will be closed at 2 p.m. on July 6, and the winner will be announced.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Darby St. Francis Fund that was set up by the St. Francis Pet Hospital in Darby. The St. Francis team works to give medical assistance to pets in need and the Darby St. Francis Fund provides money for homeless pets or low-income families to afford the level of medical attention their pet may require.
Local artist participating in the event include Leisa Lewis, Windblown Watercolors, Laughing Mule Press, Vickie M. Edwards Art, Linda Ham Fine Art, Wilderness Spirit Art Studio, Soulful Art, and Karri Stevenson Art.
Also, there will be Kim and Thom Norby Pottery, Capturing His Creations photography, Yukon Wolf Enterprises with horseshoe racks and wooden art, Chris Siek with hand beaded hatbands and Hidden Treasures offering gift boxes.
Pawsitive Vibration Creations will have pet couture and toys. Little Tin Cup Farm will be offering beautiful goat soaps and lotions. Wild Turkey Acres will be there with Montana Snow Dyed Wild Rags, shirts and of course aprons. There will be birdhouses by Diana Rogers, and All About Hats will help you design your very own Cowboy hat.
