Villa Rica artist aims to create something new every day
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – There is something special about creating something on your own, no matter your skill level.
Landen Prather is the owner of the Landen Prather Fine Art Gallery. He is working to make art accessible, whether you live in Atlanta or not. He said he takes a little bit of time each day to create.
“The prompt today is three things we are either happy about or emotions that are positive. The next step is to just be free, whatever you want to draw, whatever you want to paint, whatever you want to think about, we are going to make it positive today” said Prather.
His decision to express himself every day, to think outside of the box, is sacred to him and he is encouraging other people to try it out.
“A sketch doesn’t always mean something long. Sometimes it is two minutes or you can write a poem, make a piece of music, just something creative,” said Prather.
Right now, Prather is gearing up for his next art show called “Out of the Darkness.” It is about his mental health journey from darkness to light. He has animated his pieces so they come to life for the viewer.
“Sometimes people look at things as a pretty picture. No. There is something behind this and if you can’t see it on the canvas, let me show it to you in different ways,” he said. “Make something. It will make you feel better, just get it out.”
