Quiet is focus of show at Fine Arts Center
Noise and business surround us – social media, family, jobs …
“Works by the Textile Artists of Virginia, now on display at the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, is a way to the refocus on the quiet around us,” said Savannah Penven, program manager and curator at the center.
The featured artists present quilting and textile art featuring topics ranging from a winter sunset to the flight of a feather.
The show at the center’s Edna B. Love Gallery will run until Aug. 3, according to a center new release.
Artists at the Quiet show are Martha Mabry of Radford, Sue Davis and Gwen E. Goepel of Floyd, Anne Panella of Pembroke, Tina Freudenberger of Eggleston, Shirley Sellers of Newport, Linda Carol Adrienne of Virginia Beach, Arlene L. Blackburn of Union Hall, Meryl Ann Butler of Norfolk, Barbara Zubler of Roanoke, and from Blacksburg: Elizabeth Gail Billingsley, Paula C. Golden, Judy Madigan, Carol Monti, Kathy Sevebeck, Gloria Smith, and Karin Tauber, according to the release.
