First Nations Fine Art Auction 2024
Sydney Australia: Art Leven [formerly Cooee Art] announces its fifteenth bi-annual Australian First Nations Fine Art Auction, the only multi-vendor auction of its kind, on November 12, 7pm (AEDT) in Sydney.
Art Leven’s auction department, Australia’s only First Nations specific auction house, will present an offering of 93 lots featuring notable pieces by artists including Emily Kame Kngwarreye’s (Emily Kam Kngwarray), Rover Joolama Thomas and Lin Onus, Michael Riley, Reko Rennie, Ronnie Tjampitjinpa, Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori and Bill Whiskey Tjapaltjarri. Among the many notable lots is an early Papunya board painted during the ‘interregnum’ period and attributed to Timmy Payungka Tjapangati.
Specially curated over the past six months, this auction will be featuring a selected offering of 93 lots valued between $1,250,000 and $1,600,000. Vendors from across Australia, the Americas, and Europe have contributed, featuring traditional bark paintings, sculptures, limited edition prints, drawings, and photographic works. This collection showcases the diversity and richness of the First Nations artists across the continent. The collection will be on view at our Art Leven gallery located in Redfern from Friday 8th to Tuesday 12th November 2023
