City Life Org – Renowned Fine Artist Donna Isham to Debut at Hamptons Fine Art Fair

Los Angeles-based fine artist Donna Isham is making her debut installation at the Hamptons Fine Art Fair (HFAF) from July 11-14, 2024, at the Southampton Fairgrounds. This eagerly anticipated annual event, now in its 18th year, promises a well-curated, high-caliber art showcase specifically designed for the art-loving community of the Hamptons.

Donna Isham is celebrated for her evocative exploration of womanhood through a blend of figurative and abstract art. Her work delves into emotional and metaphysical realms, often reflecting themes of transformation and the pursuit of life’s deeper meanings. Isham’s debut at this year’s fair is a must-see, showcasing her thought-provoking, female-centric figuration. With bold coloration and gestural mark-making, she portrays the strength of women. Her ability to reconstruct the female form with resilience and compassion is breathtaking, presenting it as raw, naked, and unshackled. Isham’s paintings explore life and beauty in its many forms, sensuality, and the ephemeral, suggesting the spiritual and ecstatic. 

Isham’s abstract works are equally emotive and inspiring, described as a sensorial symphony of captivating visuals that push the boundaries of contemporary art. She uses layered paint application and poignant iconography to create vibrant paintings. Hers is a process driven conversation with the canvas, each mark informing the next, adding and subtracting to the previous layer which creates a whirlwind of energy and life. Donna Isham draws influence from her vast experience in the fashion, entertainment, and music industries. Her paintings are part of private collections worldwide and have been exhibited at numerous galleries, including in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Paris, Vienna, and Nantucket, as well as at the St. Regis Hotel Summer Lodge (Aspen, CO) and Neuehouse (Venice Beach, CA). Additionally, she has been featured as an arts educator with the nonprofit children’s organization Art of Elysium in Los Angeles. Isham completed a residency at Chateau d’Orquevaux in France in May 2024 and will have her first solo show at Varvara Roza Gallery in London this Fall 2024.
