Zayn Malik has decided there’s only one thing that makes you beautiful – and that’s his art.
The former One Direction star, who released country album Room Under The Stairs on Friday, has been delving into his creative side lately. And sources say he would now be open to showing his work in a public setting. His team are even reaching out to secure a booking for the star to display this work.
One said: “Zayn’s confidence has really grown since beginning painting some years ago. He has built up a solid both of work and would love to show this formally. The gallery and exhibition is a great idea and his team are already reaching out to see what is possible.”
Speaking on the Happy Place podcast lately, he said: “I like to paint with acrylic really but I spray paint a lot too, and spray paintings taught me, like, a lot with the paintbrush, coming back from the spray paint to the canvas, just seems to refine your skills a little bit.
“I love drawing, I love pencil sketching, I love comic books, and obviously I’m very into tattoos, my whole body’s covered at this point. I love art, expression, innit. I find it hard to use oil paint, takes forever!”
Away from his easel, the pop star has also been experimenting – but insists his move into country music has not been driven by other artists such as Beyonce and Post Malone. He told Nylon Magazine that his new music came to him as he was “on my farm, drinking whiskey and listening to a bit of Stapleton by the fire, with my dog, playing guitar.”
He added: “It takes a certain intellect to be ahead of the curve…people need to know I didn’t just jump on the bandwagon.”
Altogether now Zayn: “This ain’t Texas…”
