Tales Of The Rays Shutdown Showcases Tales Of Xillia 2 Cast Artwork
Following the announcement that the free-to-play mobile game Tales of the Rays will be shut down on July 23, 2024, Bandai Namco shared a new illustration featuring all 222 characters.
Now, the developer is sharing focused images of each title’s cast from that massive illustration. The sixteenth one depicts the cast of the fourteenth mainline entry, Tales of Xillia 2.
This direct sequel to the first Tales of Xillia was released in 2012 before seeing a Western release roughly two years later. It occurs one year later with a new protagonist, Ludger Will Kresnik. Alongside being an unconventional silent protagonist with choice input from the player, he can utilize multiple weapon types in battle. Further, this entry featured multiple endings and a debt system that prevented progression unless segments were paid off.

Sadly, many Tales of games, including Tales of Xillia 2, were recently delisted from PSN. Bandai Namco has not communicated regarding these delistings, prompting increasing concern over preservation for this franchise, which hasn’t been great for a long while. So, hopefully, Bandai Namco will soon announce re-releases for all of those delisted titles and plenty of neglected older ones.
With Tales of the Rays incoming shutdown, no mobile entries remain, making the franchise’s status increasingly worrying.
Bandai Namco has announced that the latest entry of the Tales of franchise, Tales of Arise, has sold over three million units worldwide.
