My Dress-Up Darling Animation Director Reveals New Marin Artwork
The animation director of the popular romantic comedy anime series My Dress-Up Darling has sparked hope of an upcoming Season 2 release date with the reveal of new Marin Kitagawa artwork.
My Dress-Up Darling animation director Jun Yamazaki posted the new colored artwork of the series’ deuteragonist Marin Kitagawa to his official X (formerly Twitter) account on June 6, 2024. The art features a typically bubbly Marin, saying “Ohisa–,” a casual and friendly greeting meaning “long time no see.” Meanwhile, Yamazaki’s caption suggests that drawing Marin is a form of “rehabilitation” for him, with the post unsurprisingly leading fans to believe that an update on My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 could very soon be following. Readers can check out his post with the illustration below.

Crunchyroll streams My Dress-Up Darling Season 1, describing the series: “Wakana Gojo is a high school boy who wants to become a kashirashi–a master craftsman who makes traditional Japanese Hina dolls. Though he’s gung-ho about the craft, he knows nothing about the latest trends, and has a hard time fitting in with his class. The popular kids–especially one girl, Marin Kitagawa–seem like they live in a completely different world. That all changes one day, when she shares an unexpected secret with him, and their completely different worlds collide.”
