Kaiserslautern city hall displays artwork from DODEA and German students

“Art brings us together” is the slogan of a new German-American student art exhibit at Kaiserslautern’s city hall.

The exhibition, which opened Tuesday with music from a string ensemble from Ramstein High School, includes 20 drawings, paintings and sculptures from German and American students in the Rhineland-Palatinate region.

DODEA students from Vogelweh Elementary School, Kaiserslautern Elementary School, Landstuhl Elementary School, Kaiserslautern Middle School, Ramstein Middle School, Kaiserslautern High School and Ramstein High School are participating in the show.

The presentation, sponsored by the German-American Community Office, will be on display in the Rathaus foyer until Feb. 28.

“It’s about us all feeling at home in the Kaiserslautern region,” Lord Mayor Beate Kimmel said at the opening, according the a press release from the city.
