Hunter x Hunter Creator Completes New Artwork of the Series’ Most Popular Character
Yoshihiro Togashi, the author and illustrator of Hunter x Hunter, is continuing his streak of positive health updates on his social media account. His latest post is an updated illustration of the most popular Hunter x Hunter character.
Togashi recently uploaded a new piece of fully colored artwork of Killua Zoldyck from Hunter x Hunter on his social media X account (formerly Twitter). Seen below, the illustration of Killua is a redraw of Weekly Shonen Jump #52 from 2003. “Color work finished. I’m feeling energized, so I’ll do my best,” Togashi commented alongside the new drawing.

Class 1-A Face Off Against Dark Might in New My Hero Academia: You’re Next Trailer
Deku, Bakugo, Shoto and the rest of Class 1-A take on the evil version of All Might in the new My Hero Academia: You’re Next anime movie trailer.
From 1999 to 2004, the last three official popularity polls for Hunter x Hunter have placed Killua at #1. Throughout these polls, the top three spots have been consistently dominated by Killua at #1, Kurapika at #2 and Gon Freecss at #3. My Hero Academia, another Shonen Jump series, has also seen similar consecutive results, as Katsuki Bakugo, Izuku “Deku” Midoriya and Shoto Todoroki are routinely voted by fans as the most popular characters. However, the most recent My Hero Academia poll contained errors that made the results invalid, leading to an official recount by the manga publisher.
Yoshihiro Togashi’s Recent Updates Are a Positive Sign for Hunter x Hunter’s Return
The new illustration of Killua is another optimistic sign of Togashi recovering from his serious back problems. His poor health is the reason why the Hunter x Hunter manga is currently on an indefinite period of hiatus. However, Togashi revealed on X that he’s making progress on the new Hunter x Hunter chapter. He’s also been illustrating artwork based on his old series like Yu Yu Hakusho, as well as his current interests, such as the Resident Evil video games.
