SoundCloud now enables artists to keep 100% of distribution royalties across streaming platforms | Digital

SoundCloud has launched additions to its Artist and Artist Pro subscription. 

Describing the offering as the “most artist-first subscription on the market” SoundCloud will now include 100% distribution royalties..

SoundCloud will eliminate its distribution revenue share at the end of November 2025, enabling artists to keep 100% of their royalties starting with the next payout cycle. This includes distribution on all major streaming and other digital platforms including TikTok, Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, and dozens more.

Artists who monetise directly on SoundCloud have always kept 100% of their SoundCloud royalties. This update extends that same benefit to distribution royalties, which are artist’s earnings from platforms such as TikTok, Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, and over 60 more.

For the US only, SoundCloud will now provide direct fan-to-artist support without fees. Artists can add a ‘support’ button directly on their profile, giving fans the ability to contribute any amount they choose.

Fans who donate are highlighted with a new Fan Support spotlight, bringing together a list of top contributors directly on the artist profile page. SoundCloud will not take a commission – 100% of contributions go to the artist.

“SoundCloud has always been about putting artists first,” said Eliah Seton, CEO of SoundCloud. “With this launch, we’re taking that mission further by giving artists a truly all-in-one subscription, including distribution without detours, community without barriers, and monetisation without compromise, including direct support from their fans.” 

As previously reported, SoundCloud offers on-demand vinyl editions of tracks for artist subscribers to sell to fans internationally.

With artist storefronts, SoundCloud subscriber artists can showcase their off-platform purchase options directly alongside their music. They are able to showcase merch directly alongside music, with all profits going to the artist.
