Rochester hosting ceramics artists from across country

Rochester will host ceramic artists from seven states and Canada this weekend in a show at Flower City Arts Center.

The eighth annual Flower City Pottery Invitational opens Oct. 11 with an evening ticketed reception with artists and continues throughout the weekend. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Nineteen artists will be featured, along with more than 1,000 works.

“Each of the participating artists was carefully chosen by (Invitational) curators for their mastery of craft and the unique properties of their work, as well as for their appreciation of the community aspect of the event and of Flower City Arts Center itself,” program organizers said in a news release.

The Flower City Arts Center is located at 713 Monroe Ave. in the city.
