Over three days, two paintings from our and foreign artists

October 21, 2024 2 Mins Read

As part of the II Theatre Festival of the member countries of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), an exhibition of works by artists from six countries – Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan – was held at the State Museum of Fine Arts.

Preliminary, all the artists visited the open air in Anau and the Magtymguly cultural and park complex. During the allotted time – 3 days, the artists worked on the paintings using photographs and sketches made in these places. The exhibition center of fine arts of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, which turned into an international creative workshop, became the working platform for creativity.

Among the turkmen artists, teachers from the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen State School took part in the exhibition. The exhibition included 44 paintings by 21 artists: 9 foreign and 12 Turkmen. Thus, each artist created approximately 2 paintings.

Artists from Kazakhstan — Umirbek Jumaniyazov, Turgun Abdurahmanov performed realistic portraits of the outstanding turkmen poet Magtymguly. The Great Silk Road inspired these regions of the artist from Uzbekistan Alisher Hamdamov.

The meeting of Magtymguly and Mengli was depicted by the artist from Kyrgyzstan Sadyk Murzahinov. Two decorative installations were presented by the artist from Turkey Kiya Gulveli. Two dragons on the portal of the Mosque in Anau made a special impression on all the artists. Numerous legends, which the local guides introduced to the guests, contributed to this. “Meeting with wisdom” — this is how Rustam Abdullaev called his work.

Several paintings, but each one differently, depicted the majestic monument to Magtymguly.

The exhibition of paintings was interesting for the viewers due to the diversity of styles, views and preferences. For participation in the exhibition, all the artists received memorable gifts.
