Derby’s Six Streets Arts Trail is back as people open homes to artists

June 7, 2024 One Min Read

The Six Streets Arts Trail is back and with over 50 artists exhibiting work in 30 venues, this promises to be a great weekend. Situated North of Derby City Centre, the Six Streets area of Derby regularly hosts events for local residents and visitors alike.

The Arts Trail, organised by a small group of volunteers, happens every two years and this year is taking place on Saturday, June 22 and Sunday 23, from 10am to 5pm. Visitors are invited into local resident’s homes and community venues to view and buy artists’ work. This year we have painters, photographers, sculptors, crafters, jewellers and a collector – all selling an eclectic range of art.

Many of the artists are local to the area, for example – Paul Johnstone, painter and printer on Park Grove, Liam Sharp – comic illustrator on Bromley Street and Mary Johnston, the ceramicist who will be opening up her studio on Wheeldon Ave.

In addition, visitors will also be able to buy food and drink from pop-up cafes, have Sunday lunch at Broadway Baptist Church, listen to live music and singing, plus add a line in the Community Washline Poem on Park Grove.
