Call for artists, performers, vendors

Deadline to Apply: Friday, July 26, 2024

NIAGARA FALLS, ON – The City of Niagara Falls is currently accepting submissions for the 13th annual Niagara Falls Night of Art event on Thursday, September 19, 2024. The event offers a super-packed evening filled with art, live music, video, art installations, fabulous artisanal work, improv, and lots of laughs located at the new Niagara Falls Exchange (5943 Sylvia Place). Submissions for artists, performers, and vendors are now open and due Friday, July 26, 2024.

Call for Artists and Performers:

The Culture team is currently seeking installation and performance artists of all mediums. This includes visual, music, dance, audio/visual, immersive, performance artists, and any other creative art form.  Mixed media pieces, interactive and audience engagement works, and hands-on activities promoting an artistic experience are welcomed.

  • Artists are invited to submit a proposal outlining their ideas and involvement in this year’s Night of Art. The Culture team will select artists at the price points of $250, $500, $1000, $1500, and $2000. Only one $2500 submission will be awarded to the exterior of the building.
  • Installation artists at the $1000+ level will also be required to make a short video detailing the creation of their piece (for example, a time lapse, a video diary of creation/progress, an explanation of the piece, etc.). This video will be used at the event and shared on social media for promotional purposes.
  • All installations must be strong, stable, and secure, weighted down and/or attached to an existing structure or post.
  • All installations are pending the approval of the Culture team.

Call for Vendors:

The Culture team is also seeking interested artist/artisan vendors to attend this year’s Night of Art. Vendors interested in displaying and selling pieces are encouraged to apply.

  • Artists/artisans are responsible for having someone stationed at their display and are required to handle all sales independently.
  • Applications may also include hands-on or interactive activities.
  • Artists/artisan vendors selected to display and sell their work will be charged a small fee of $40.
  • Display spaces are available both inside and outside. If needed, tables and chairs will be provided. Artists/artisans are encouraged to provide extra table lighting for their display.

Submission Guidelines and Selection Procedure:

  • All artists must book a mandatory phone conversation with Night of Art event organizers to casually discuss their potential piece by Friday, July 12, 2024. To book a time, email [email protected]
  • Online submissions are due on Friday, July 26, 2024 at midnight.
Residents and students of Niagara are encouraged to apply.
  • Standard conflict of interest guidelines apply.
