BBC’s 2026 New Generation Artists announced

April 2, 2026 One Min Read

The cohort’s performances alongside BBC orchestras will be broadcast across Europe

BBC Radio 3 has revealed the next roster of New Generation Artists. The soloists and chamber ensembles will perform at major UK venues alongside BBC orchestras on a bespoke talent development scheme from September 2026 to December 2028

Broadcasts from the classical and jazz Artists will carry across BBC services to UK listeners, and European audiences via the European Broadcasting Union. They join alumni stretching back to 1999 which include some of the most exciting talents of today, with Alison Balsom, Alan Clayton, Hugh Cutting, Shabaka Hutchings, Jonathan Biss, and Sean Shibe among that number. The incumbent contingent, until December 2027, include the NOVO Quartet whose ‘Track 1’ recording was a recent Gramophone Editor’s Choice.
