Artists’ Gallery Celebrates 30 Years in Lambertville – Town Topics

December 2, 2025 2 Mins Read

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a show featuring the work of its member artists. It is on view through January 4, with an opening reception on December 6 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Artists’ Gallery marks its 30-year anniversary this December with a group show featuring the work of all 16 member artists. Join the artists as they celebrate with a free opening reception on Saturday, December 6 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 18 Bridge Street, Lambertville.

“Thirty years is something special,” said Joe Kazimierczyk, a landscape painter and current gallery president who has been with Artists’ Gallery for 20 of those 30 years. “Although we’ve moved locations and our gallery roster changes over time, the basic idea is the same: we’re an artist-run gallery that provides a unique experience for the art collector and the art-curious.”

When the gallery was formed in 1995, one goal was to provide art lovers with a way to meet artists and to collect work without the middleman markup common at dealer-run galleries. When visitors enter the gallery, they are first treated to a sampler in the “welcome hallway” where each artist displays one small piece of art. Beyond the hallway, guests will find several more rooms full of art to explore and can chat with whichever artist is managing the gallery that day.

Carol Sanzalone, a Lambertville resident who has also been a member for 20 years, says that she “loves seeing repeat visitors who’ve been with us for years as well as newcomers who are exploring all the different rooms for the first time.”

Artists’ Gallery always presents a variety of approaches to art-making. Beatrice Bork, whose wildlife scenes have delighted collectors here for nearly 19 years, said, “I’ve felt privileged to be part of this unique gallery, witnessing its growth and evolution alongside a diverse group of talented artists, each carefully chosen, working in a wide range of mediums and styles — from detailed realism to bold abstraction.”

For the December show, most artists will be exhibiting smaller works at lower price points that make them one-of-a-kind, affordable gifts for art lovers around the holidays. The 30-Year Anniversary Show runs through January 4.

Alan J. Klawans, who has been with Artists’ Gallery for 25 of its 30 years and is currently the artist with the longest tenure, reflects, “It’s been an amazing run and a lot of fun to be a part of. Although I won’t be here 30 years from now, I hope the next generation of artists will be able to have a similar celebration in the year 2055!”

Artists’ Gallery is located at 18 Bridge Street in Lambertville. The gallery is open every Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by appointment. For more information, visit lambertvillearts.com.
